Savage: Idiot, Imebecile or Moron?

Joey Michaels on July 30th, 2008

savagetard.jpgUnited States talk show host Michael Savage recently reported that 99% of all cases of autism are just cases where the child is being a brat. After being called out on the fact that this wasn’t, you know, a fact, he still stood by his remarks.

I, for one, applaud Mr. Savage for his courage in going after those fucking Rain Man types. I’ve met Dustin Hoffman, and he doesn’t act like he did in that movie at all when the cameras aren’t on him. He’s a bit of an asshole, but he can’t count the number of beans you spill on the floor in front of him even if you threaten to punch him in the throat if he doesn’t. It was just an act.

In fact, I think Mr. Savage should also turn his attention to other forms of alleged mental disability. Clearly, so called “Down Syndrome” patients are mongoloids who should be prevented from reproducing. Furthermore, we should stop calling the intellectually challenged by that PC name and return to calling them cretins, retards, idiots, morons and imbeciles. And, of course, we should make sure that drug addicts and sexual deviants get exactly what they deserve - fame as conservative pundits.

Random Salad is full of things much less interesting than this. Whether you've come to this page by a link or by voodoo sex magic, pay a visit to the homescreen before you go.

I love how in the article you linked he uses girl as an insult.

Like “retard” or “idiot,” the liberals will make it impossible for us to belittle men by calling them women. No wonder we’re raising a nation of wimps.

If you actually heard the show(and the interview he did with a medical doctor concerning the concept of autism) you would know he was emphasizing the broad spectrum of symptoms nowadays that fall under the umbrella of autism. He wasn’t belittling the actual situations where it actually exists. Similar to the anti-depressant controversy; they are overproscribed. Do some people really need them:yes. Do too many people take them: yes.

un-PC as they may have been, the whole cretin/retard/moron hierarchy was useful in identifying exactly how retarded someone was. Now, it’s much harder to know exactly how much we should ostracize them.

I think anyone smart enough to avoid listening to Savage’s show should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to being ostracized. If that means a few drooling freaks who prefer Shining Time Station to talk radio are allowed to be part of our society, I can live with that.

Once heard someone talking about using Savage to get through their insomnia and get to sleep at night. I guess he was that good for shutting off all conscious thought. Though this guy just used random talk shows to fall asleep that way for a bit. He described his reaction the first time he heard Savage as being along the lines “Oh god, some crazy person in the studio has gotten a hold of the microphone, I wonder why they haven’t taken it back from him or shut off the stream yet… Wait… He’s coming through pretty clearly… Oh god, this is the actual program.” Needless to say he was sold.

I’m not sure where Troll falls on the scale.
